Deputy City Auditor
 

Van joined the Office of the City Auditor in 2003.  He was previously employed as a Senior Analyst at the Hawai'i State Auditor's Office for eleven years.  He also served as an Assistant Vice President at Hawaiian Trust Company and an Assistant Executive Director for the Downtown Improvement Association.  Van has supervised and completed performance audit projects concerning many departments and agencies, including the Department of Planning and Permitting, Department of Facilities Maintenance, Honolulu Police Department, Environmental Services Department, and the Neighborhood Board System.  Van graduated from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa with a Masters of Business Administration and also earned a Bachelors of Arts in Geography from the University of California at Los Angeles.  Van is a member of the Association of Government Accountants, the Association of Local Government Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
