(Mon., Jan. 21, 2013) – A crew completed repairs to the broken force main at the West Beach No. 1 Wastewater Pump Station just before 8 p.m. Residents of Ko Olina, who had been asked to conserve water while the repairs were underway, do not have to conserve water any longer.
The contractor will be back on site in the morning to pour a concrete jacket around the repaired section and fill in the trench.
The force main broke last night, and City crews utilized Vactor trucks and tankers to extract wastewater upstream of the break and redirect it downstream. An estimated 1,500 gallons of raw wastewater spilled to the ground during the event.
