ENV RESPONDS TO FORCE MAIN BREAK IN KO OLINA

 (Sun., Jan. 20, 2013) – The City’s Department of Environmental Services responded this evening to a force main break in the Ko Olina area.

The call came in at 2:19 p.m.  An ENV crew arrived at 2:55 p.m. and confirmed the break at 3:10 p.m.  The spill is currently intermittent.

The 16-inch force main break is located at the City West Beach No. 1 Wastewater Pump Station along Aliinui Drive and has spilled approximately 1,500 gallons of untreated wastewater to ground. Crews have contained the spill and contacted agencies to repair the break.

ENV notified the state Department of Health.  Warning signs are posted as the spill did not reach receiving waters.
