Creating one-to-one relationships with IDD youth and non-IDD peers to increase socialization, foster inclusion, reduce victimization, and improve life skills, self-esteem, social leadership, and awareness.
Palama Settlement - $13,029
Girl Circle and Street Smarts programs, which address teenage girls' high-risk behavior.
Partial funding of holiday event for over 250 underprivileged and at-risk youth.
Sutter Health Pacific - $52,595
Appropriation: "planning and/or support of programs to support a Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area community" (Ordinance 11-10)
Appropriation: "programs that provide supportive, vocational and residential services to developmentally disabled adults" (Ordinance 11-10)
Purchase residential appliances for Renton Road Homes Adult Day Health program, which teaches daily living skills to disabled adults.
Vocational programs providing pre-employment skills; teach workplace ethics, independent living skills, dog grooming and training, landscaping, gardening, and basic maintenance and repair.
Partial funding for training of developmentally disabled adult athletes, as well as Summer Games event.
Appropriation: "planning and/or development of youth center programs in Koolauloa, to include a media arts program" (Ordinance 11-10)
Koolauloa Educational Alliance Corporation: Kahuku Film Club - $89,797
Appropriation: "supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness on Oahu", of which half "shall be appropriated for supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness in central Oahu and the
IHS, The Institute for Human Services - $360,000
Appropriation: "program that assists vendors with complying with health and safety standards" (Ordinance 11-10)
Enterprising Solutions - $31,064
Assist in organizing the group of lunchwagons to give them representation in government to promote health and safety in food handling, preparation, and sale.
Appropriation: "spay/neuter program for pets of economically disadvantaged families" (Ordinance 11-10)
Poi Dogs and Popoki - $45,000
Expand on spay and neuter efforts in the following communities: Ewa, Kalihi,
Appropriation: "improvement of facilities that provide supportive, vocational and residential services to developmentally disabled adults" (Ordinance 11-10)
Partial funding for building renovations to qualify for licensing as an ARCH Type II facility, to care for developmentally disabled and aged adults who require supervision and assistance with daily living activities.
Resurface driveway and parking lot to ensure safety and access to the facility for intellectual and physical developmentally disabled adults.
Appropriation: "increase funding for Weed-n-Seed program" (Ordinance 11-10)
