City and County of Honolulu Grants in Aid

 

Fiscal Year 2012 Appropriation

 

"At least $1,200,000 out of current expenses shall be appropriated for various grants to private non-profit and/or community based organizations in the following amounts:

1)     a minimum of $250,000 shall be appropriated for programs serving at-risk/alienated youth;

2)     a minimum of $100,000 shall be appropriated for the planning and/or support of programs to support a Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area community;

3)     a minimum of $100,000 shall be appropriated for programs that provide supportive, vocational and residential services to developmentally disabled adults;

4)     a minimum of $100,000 shall be appropriated for the planning and/or development of youth center programs in Koolauloa, to include a media arts program;

5)     a minimum of $400,000 shall be appropriated for the provision of supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness on Oahu and, of which, a minimum of $200,000 shall be appropriated for supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Central Oahu and the North Shore;

6)     a minimum of $100,000 shall be appropriated for a program that assists vendors with complying with health and safety standards;

7)     a minimum of $50,000 shall be appropriated for a spay/neuter program for pets of economically disadvantaged families; and

8)     a minimum of $1 00,000 shall be appropriated for the improvement of facilities that provide supportive, vocational and residential services to developmentally disabled adults;

for all these grants, no more than 10% shall be used to cover administrative costs relating to the disbursement of these funds."
