Aloha! I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our community on the Mililani Neighborhood Board for the past six years. As a lifelong resident of Mililani and a product of Mililani Uka, Mililani High School, and UH-Manoa; I believe I can continue to actively serve our community to keep Mililani a safe and special place to live, work, and play for our families. I live just off Kamehameha Hwy. in Kipapa Gulch. Would like to help in planning improvements of Kamehameha Hwy. between the Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenuue to a modern four lane Highway.

I'm running for NB 25 because I'd like to ensure developers are held accountable for their promises. I'll be a positive addition to the Board because I'll bring a refreshing new prospective and younger energy to the meetings. As a single under 30 resident, I have a long term interest in seeing the Neighborhood prosper and will be committed to doing what is best for the community not the developer.

 

KAWAKAMI, Shaun Hayato

I am blessed to have my amazing wife, Izumi, two beautiful daughters, Grace and Faith, and I am currently the Youth Director at Mililani Missionary Church and also serve in the Hawaii Air National Guard.   I ran for the State House of Representatives in Mililani in 2010, but lost by a mere 16 votes! 5562 to 5578 votes.  I remain committed to serving you and humbly ask for your vote and support!

 

POIRIER, Dick

Current Board Chair; Retired Planning Program Manager with the State of Hawaii Office of Planning; MA Urban & Regional Planning. My concerns for insuring that Mililani continues to be a ""special place"" have not diminished since moving here in 1969. Although our Board has accomplished much, there is a lot more to be done as a community in preserving our quality of life.

 

SHEPHERD, Janice J.

Graduate of Mililani High School with more than three decades of living in Mililani and legislative experience at the Hawaii State Capitol working for the Mililani District.

 

SIEGEL, Carole M.

Mililani resident for 42 years. I've been pleased to serve on the board; to work for many community projects. Retired from Pearl Harbor Shipyard. Registered Nurse and former Navy Nurse. Children and grandchild graduated from Mililani High School. Plan to continue monitoring developments that affect us all if elected to serve again.

I am also Lt. Col. (Ret.) with 28 years of service. Orgs: Oahu Arts Center BOD, Daughters of Hawai'i, Hawai'i Women's Coalition, Hawai'i Democratic Women's Caucus, Hawai`i Military Women's Task Force.

Mililani resident for 32 years. Previously served on neighborhood board 25 for 10 years, four years as chair. Served in State House 16 years. Member of numerous community organizations. Familiar with ongoing concerns in the community and want to continue working for our community.

Incumbent Board member. Retired Army officer. MS Degree in Government. Currently employed 20 years as a high school teacher. Top concerns for Mililani are education, regional planning, and transportation. Our Board must continue to work closely with C&C and State officials to protect Mililani's interests.

I have lived in Mililani for 35 years. My qualifications include: the past Chair of the P and A for the Mentally Ill, a Board member of the HDRC, appointed by the Dept. of Justice to sit on the Patient Protection Committee at the Hawaii State Hospital, appointed by Gov. Cayatano to sit on the State Planning Council for the Mentally Ill, and I belonged to the BOD of AOAO at Opua Hale for 10 years.

 

GARAN, Shannon K.

Aloha! I'm running for re-election to represent the Mililani NB #25. I've lived in Mililani since 08. I'm currently in my 17th year of teaching Kindergarten at Solomon Elem. As an active member of HSTA, I've held various leadership positions, such as Chapter President and Teacher Lobbyist. l would like to continue to represent the residents of Subdistrict 3. I have lived in Mililani Town since 1973.  I served as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer and retired in 1983.  I have served as Executive Director of State High Technology Development Corporation and Barbers Point Naval Air Station Redevelopment Commission retiring in 2005.  I have been a member of NB #25 since 1997 and currently serve as Vice Chair.

Retired from the State Dept. of Human Resources Development.  Currently serving on the Neighborhood Board for Sub-district 4.  I am interested in land use planning and transportation issues and preserving the quality of life in Mililani.

 

REMINGTON, Charles L.

Current Board Treasurer seeking re-election.  Being involved with the Neighborhood Board allows me the opportunity to voice my concerns and those concerns of my neighbors in decisions affecting our community.  BS degree in Business Administration, MA degree in Management & Supervision.

 

SVRCINA, Emil Francis Jr.

14 year Mililani resident. Graduated from Mililani schools. Worked in Mililani area and has work experience as supervisor. Currently attending College - Majoring in Business and Accounting.
