I'll be a positive addition to the Board because I'll bring a refreshing new prospective and younger energy to the meetings. Top concerns for Mililani are education, regional planning, and transportation. Our Board must continue to work closely with C&C and State officials to protect Mililani's interests. I have lived in Mililani for 35 years. My qualifications include: the past Chair of the P and A for the Mentally Ill, a Board member of the HDRC, appointed by the Dept. of Justice to sit on the Patient Protection Committee at the Hawaii State Hospital, appointed by Gov. Cayatano to sit on the State Planning Council for the Mentally Ill, and I belonged to the BOD of AOAO at Opua Hale for 10 years.
GARAN, Shannon K. Aloha! I'm running for re-election to represent the Mililani NB #25. I've lived in Mililani since 08. I'm currently in my 17th year of teaching Kindergarten at Solomon Elem. As an active member of HSTA, I've held various leadership positions, such as Chapter President and Teacher Lobbyist. l would like to continue to represent the residents of Subdistrict 3.
