I have been a NHB member for 8 years.  I am a Military Veteran who previously volunteered for various organizations, for example, at the Women & Men Prisons and Awana's River of Life Mission.  Previously, I was a foster parent for Catholic Charities.  Currently, I participate in various student exchange programs for Asian students to give them English learning opportunities.

GAVIGAN, Marie Manuele

I have served on the Kaneohe Neighborhood Board since July, 2007, as the representative for District 1.  My family and I have lived in Kaneohe since April, 1996, and I would consider it an honor to be able to continue to represent District 1 on the Board.  I am currently a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Hawaii, and defend the State in civil lawsuits filed against it.

I have lived in Kane'ohe for eight years and am a sociology lecturer at UH Manoa. I live with my husband and two young boys. We volunteer as a family at Papahana Kuaola in our neighborhood, where we help to maintain the loi. I have volunteered my time for the Kane'ohe neighborhood board since March 2011 and enjoy listening to the concerns of our residents and working with my fellow board members.

FLANIGAN, John M.

Resident of Kaneohe since 1987, have served on the Kaneohe Neighborhood Board for nine years. Chair of Public Health and Windward Civilian/Military committees. I am interested in promoting neighborhood harmony and cooperation, recognizing and preserving wartime historical sites, and supporting public access to beaches and trails.

FONG, Jean A.

Married to Dan Fong for 27 years. We have three children, Sarah, Nolan and Rachel. I have held many board positions since 1995 in civic organizations and public schools in Kaneohe. Currently I am president of Family & Friends of Castle, Castle High's PTA.  If elected I will use my experience to serve our community, as we articulate, define, and address our neighborhood problems.

 

KAMIYA, Joni M.

As a long time Kaneohe resident, I am hoping to make my community better by participating on the neighborhood board.  I graduated from Castle HS and UH Manoa.  I have a MS degree from Washington University in St. Louis.  I am an occupational therapist at Pohai Nani.  I also volunteer with Project Dana since 2008 and am co-chair on the public relations committee for the OT Association of Hawaii.

Welina me ke aloha. I've been serving on the Kaneohe Board since 2010.  Involved in the following committees:  Education, Disaster Preparedness, Haiku Stairs. I enjoy serving the residents of Kaneohe and look forward to two more years of service
