"BRUNCH ON THE BEACH" RETURNS 

Brunch on the Beach returns to Kalakaua Avenue on Sunday, October 14, better than ever, with more delicious food, delightful entertainment and a discount coupon book that will also help families of victims in the September 11 terrorist attacks. 

Kalakaua Avenue will once again be transformed into an outdoor café, with Astroturf, bright blue umbrellas and tables between Kaulani and Liliuokalani streets. A dozen hotel restaurants and establishments will be offering mouth-watering delicacies and there will be live entertainment by the Royal Hawaiian Band and the popular group Na Leo Pilimehana. 

The outdoor dining event, which will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., has been growing in popularity since its debut in July. 

Participating in this month’s brunch will be the Sheraton Hotels in Waikiki, Hyatt Regency, Duke’s Waikiki, Seafood Village, Pacific Beach Hotel, Lobster & Crab House, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Keoni by Keo’s, Sunset Terrace Restaurant & Bar, Hau Tree Lanai, Skyline Café and Tea Chest Hawaii.   

Script sales will begin at 9:30 a.m., and you may purchase scripts for use at future Brunches on the Beach. 

Strolling musicians will entertain guests. and the Royal Hawaiian Band will do a patriotic tribute during the program. The award-winning group Na Leo Pilimehana will also highlight the program with its beautiful songs. 

A special discount book will also be available, offering discounts at 18 great brunch restaurants, $20 worth of scrips for future brunches and special kamaaianaa rates at 19 hotels. The books will sell for $25, with $5 going to the September 11th Hawaii Community Foundation/AUW Fund. 

Parking for the brunch will be available for $2 for four hours at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel and $1 for five hours at the Ohana Reef Towers, Ohana Waikiki Village, Outrigger East, King Kalakaua Plaza, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and the Waikiki Trade Center. 

"Brunch on the Beach" is staged on the second Sunday of every month, except September and December. The next brunch is set for November 11.
