News ReleasesApril 3, 2001
The Department of Planning and Permitting is proposing an amendment to the 2001 Development Plan Annual Amendment Review and is asking the appropriate agencies, neighborhood boards and community organizations for their input.
The amendment is being proposed for the area affected by the Central Oahu Development Plan.
Major revisions to Honolulu's eight Development Plans are in various stages of completion. However, the Annual Amendment Review process is not in effect for Ewa, East Honolulu, Koolaupoko, Koolauloa, the North Shore and Waianae because the City Council has adopted new conceptual plans for those areas. New projects proposed for these areas may apply directly for a zone change, and are evaluated within the policies and guidelines of the new plans.
The Annual Amendment Review process remains applicable for the Primary Urban Center Development Plan and the Central Oahu Development Plan, both of which are still in the public review stage.
Information on the City's proposed amendment to the Central Oahu Development Plan may be obtained at the Community Planning Division, Department of Planning and Permitting, 7th floor, 650 S. King St., or by calling 523-4270. The deadline for commenting on this amendment is April 16, 2001.
