HONOLULU AWARDED EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING AWARD
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement to the City & County of Honolulu for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 15th consecutive year. The award represents the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting.
The award will be presented to Caroll Takahashi, director of the Budget and Fiscal Services Department. “This achievement recognizes the high quality of our accounting staff and is a tribute to their dedication,” said Takahashi.
An impartial panel determined that the city's comprehensive annual financial report met the highest standards of the organization, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate the public and others to read the annual financial report.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving 14,000 government finance professionals and with offices in Chicago, Illinois, and Washington, D.C.
