KAMAHAMEHA DAY HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
City government offices will be closed Monday (June 11) in observance of King Kamehameha I Day, a state holiday. Emergency ambulance, fire, lifeguard and police services will be available. The Monday People's Open Markets will not be held. Recreation centers, municipal golf courses, the Honolulu Zoo and botanical gardens will be open. Monday refuse will be collected and landfills/transfer stations will be open. City buses will operate on a state holiday schedule with express and slightly reduced; regular weekday and express bus service for military bases and downtown Honolulu. Call 848-5555 for schedule information. These traffic and parking regulations will be in effect: On street parking will be free, except for the meters on Kalakaua Avenue along Queen Kapiolani Park Parking will be permitted in towaway zones which allow it on holidays; There will be no coning of commuter traffic lanes; Traffic signals at Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard will be three-phase to permit mauka bound traffic to turn left onto Kapiolani Boulevard. Motorists are reminded that parking in municipal lots will not be free. ### |
