The departments of Facility Maintenance (FM) and Design & Construction (DC), and the Board of Water Supply (WS) have scheduled the following roadwork for the week of June 10, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Estimated completion date is in parentheses. New Projects: Waianae: Rehabilitation of both Mailiili and Puhawai roads. (Completion by 8/2/01) DC Haleiwa: Install water lines and equipment along Haleiwa Road, Kaika Place, Nalimu Road, Naoiwi Lane, Niuula Road and Walikanahele Road. (Completion by 6/02) WS Honolulu: Punchbowl Street Improvements, Phase I: Relocate traffic signal light poles at Punchbowl Street and Beretania Street intersection. Reconstruct gutter area and resurface and stripe Punchbowl Street between King and Beretania streets. (Completion by 7/01) DC Kahaluu: Install water lines along Kamehameha Highway from Lihikai to Laenani drives and along the two drives. Install fire hydrants along Ahilama Road, Ahuimanu Road, Mapele Place and Road, and Pulama Road. (Completion by 7/01) WS Kailua: Install water main along Kaha Street and Loop, Kaimake Loop and Kaipiha Street. (Completion by 9/01) WS Kaimuki: Reconstruction of Streets: Install 12” and 8” BWS water mains on Alencastre Street between St. Louis Drive and Felix Street. Reconstruct roadway pavement and base, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveways. Adjust manhole frames and covers, street monument covers and utility boxes to finish grade. Install street striping and raise pavement markings. (Completion by 2/02) DC Kaneohe: A 42-inch water main with fire hydrants is being placed along Kahekili Highway from Ahuimanu Road to Haiku Road and from Kulukeoe Street to Likelike Highway, Likelike Highway from Kahekili Highway to Kamehameha Highway. (Completion by 6/8/02) WS Maili: Install water mains Manuaihue Street and Place, Manuoioi Place, Heleuma Street, Okokomo Street and Okohola Street. (Completion by 9/01) WS Maunawili: Install a 16-inch water main and fire hydrants along Auloa Road from Castle Junction to near Lunaai Street. (Completion by 10/01) WS Mililani: Meheula Parkway and Kuahelani Avenue reconstruct curbs and gutters and Install traffic signal conduits. DC Pearl City: Rehabilitation of Komo Mai Drive and restriping from Lanikeha Street to Apoepoe Street. Stripe Kaonohi Street above Moanalua Road. (Completion by 9/01) DC Wahiawa: Moala Place drainage improvements to include adjusting pavement grade along California Avenue and into Moala Place. (Completion by 8/01) DC Waialua: Install water lines and related equipment along Aikaula, Haona, Kanalu, Kuoha, Naluahi and Nauahi streets and Goodale Avenue. (Start 7/01 and Completion by 6/02) WS Wilhelmina Rise: Install water mains under Maunahilu Place, Paula Drive, Puumalu Place and Paula Place. (Completion by 9/01) WS
Contact Transportation Services: 527-5836 (www.co.honolulu.hi.us/dts/usage/events.htm) June 9: King Kamehameha I Day Floral Parade starting at 9:30 a.m. King and Richards streets via King Street, Punchbowl Street, Ala Moana, Kalakaua Avenue and Monsarrat Avenue to end at Queen Kapiolani Park. June 10: Honolulu International Triathlon starts at 7 with a swim to be followed by a bicycle race from the Kapiolani Park Bandstand to Hawaii Kai and back. And then a run will beheld through Kahala and back. Pan-Pacific in Hawaii Parade starts at 5 p.m. from Kalakaua Avenue and Saratoga Road and takes Kalakaua Avenue to Queen Kapiolani Park. June 11: The Hawaiian Half Marathon will start in Ala Moana Beach Park and proceed through Waikiki into Kahala and return to the Honolulu Marathon Finish Line on Kalakaua Avenue. June 16 _ 17: The MS Bike Tour 2001 will travel Kamehameha and Farrington highways from Hawaii Pacific University to Mokuleia and return. ### |
