SMITH-BERETANIA PARKING LOT CLOSED FROM JULY 30 - AUGUST 13, 2001 

The Smith-Beretania Parking lot in Chinatown will be temporarily closed from July 30 through August 13, for an archaeological survey. Motorists are advised to seek parking at nearby lots.

§         Chinatown Gateway, 1031 Nuuanu Avenue

§         Hale Pauahi, 155 N Beretania Avenue

§         Harbor Court, 86 Queen Street

§         Kukui Plaza, 1255 Nuuanu Avenue

§         Marin Tower, 60 N. Nimitz Highway

§         Kekaulike Tower, 1018 Maunakea Street 

A sign advising motorists, residents and businesses of the parking lot closure will be erected at the site and flyers are being distributed in the community. 

An archaeological survey of the lot will be conducted in preparation for construction of the new park and an underground parking facility for public use. The parking lot may reopen for two to three weeks before construction begins on the new Smith-Beretania Park.
