Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris will deliver his annual State of the City address on January 25, 2001, in the courtyard of Honolulu Hale.
Mayor Harris became acting Mayor of Honolulu in July, 1994. He was elected Mayor in a special election held in September of that year and was re-elected in November of 1996 and September, 2000.
He is the only person to be named Public Administrator of the Year for two consecutive years by the American Society of Public Administration, Hawaii Chapter. During his term, Governing Magazine named Honolulu among its Top 10 best-administered cities in the country.
The Mayor's State of the City address will begin at 11 a.m. and will be televised live on Olelo Channel 54 and thehawaiichannel.com, a live website for KITV. An edited version of the Mayor's address will also be broadcast as follows:
Thursday, January 25, 6:30 p.m. - Olelo (Channel 54); rebroadcast on Sunday, January 28 at 10 a.m.
Friday, January 26, 9 a.m.- KHNL (Channel 13).
Monday, January 29, 9 p.m. - KGMB (Channel 9).
Wednesday, January 31, 6:30 p.m. - K5 (Channel 5).
