Religious leaders and Mayor Jeremy Harris participated in an unprecedented ceremony for unity and peace today in the Honolulu Hale Courtyard. 

The ceremony included prelude music by Pianist John Tussey, remarks by the mayor and religious leaders and the signing of a Proclamation for Unity and Peace by community leaders of various faith. 

Participants were The Very Reverend Richard S. O. Chang, Episcopal Church; Pastor Dan Chun, First Presbyterian, The Very Reverend Joseph A. Grimaldi, Catholic Diocese, Major Ralph Hood, Salvation Army, Kahu John Lake, Hawaiian, Hakim Ouansafi, Muslim Association and Islamic Center of Hawaii, Pastor Daniel J. Vargas, Family Life Church of Hawaii, Senior Bishop Merlin Waite, Woodrow Yasuhara, Hawaii Assembly of God, and Bishop Chikai Yosemori, Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin.
