VETERANS HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
City government offices will be closed Monday (Nov. 12), in observance of Veterans Day, a federal holiday.
Emergency ambulance, fire, lifeguard and police services will be provided. The People's Open Markets will not be held. City golf courses, the Honolulu Zoo and botanical gardens will be open.
Refuse will be collected as usual and landfills/convenience centers will be open.
Handi-Van service will be available.
City buses will operate on a Saturday schedule. Special Veterans Day bus service to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific will be available for ceremonies held there at 10 a.m. TheBus will make three special trips to the cemetery. The trips to Punchbowl are scheduled to leave the express bus stops at Alapai Street at 9:00, 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. Regular bus fares apply.
These traffic and parking regulations will be in effect:
o On street parking will be free, except for the meters on Kalakaua Avenue along Kapiolani Park;
o Parking will be permitted in towaway zones that allow it on holidays;
o There will be no coning of commuter traffic lanes;
o Traffic signals at Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard will be three-phase to permit mauka-bound traffic to turn left onto Kapiolani Boulevard.
o Parking in municipal lots will not be free.
