Launched in July 2001, Brunch on the Beach is an economic initiative to revitalize Waikiki. It’s the City’s effort to draw local residents and visitors back to Oahu’s prime visitor destination, to rediscover the romance and charm of old Hawaii and infuse a tourist economy hard hit by a changing visitor market and the national tragedies of September 11. Co-sponsored by the City and County of Honolulu and the Waikiki Improvement Association and presented one Sunday a month, future Brunch on the Beach dates for the current fiscal year are May 19 and June 9. Dates for FY2003 will be published shortly. For more information, call 523-CITY or the Waikiki Improvement Association at 923-1094. # # # |
