FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 29, 2002
Brunch on the Beach, the popular Sunday event attended by tens of thousands since it’s introduction last July, also returns to Waikiki next Sunday, February 10. Once again City crews will roll out astro-turf, hundreds of tables and chairs, and those distinctive blue umbrellas along Kalakaua Avenue between Kaiulani and Liliuokalani. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, Kalakaua Avenue fronting Kuhio Beach will come alive with festivity for residents and visitors.
Once again, Waikiki’s finest Chefs will serve signature menu items – from omelet’s and French toast, to salads and a wide variety of Pacific cuisine entrées, and delightful desserts – at incredible prices.
Strolling musicians will entertain guests with Hawaiian music from 9:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., the Royal Hawaiian Band will kick-off the entertainment stage with their
popular “Hawaii Calls” show, followed by a surprise guest appearance by a young, up and coming group of artists. The Divas – Melveen Leed, Carole Kai, and Nohelani Cypriano – will headline the Valentine’s Day February 10th Brunch on the Beach.
Brunch on the Beach is presented by the Waikiki Improvement Association and the City and County of Honolulu every second Sunday of the month except in May when Brunch on the Beach will be held on May 19th.
