LEAKING SEWER LINE IN KANEOHE

            The public is advised to minimize contact with a drainage ditch near Hulakai Place on Windward Oahu, and where it empties into Kaneohe Bay, until a leaking sewer line is repaired.

            City crews used dye tests to confirm that the 8-inch gravity sewer line has been leaking into the drainage ditch.  The entire line will be repaired to correct the problem.  Meanwhile, signs have been posted along affected areas to warn the public.

            The State Department of Health has been notified of the situation and invites anyone with public health concerns or questions to call its Clean Water Branch at

586-4309.
