Lei Queen Applications Now Available

Applications for the 2002 Lei Queen contest are now available at all Satellite City Halls and recreation centers throughout Oahu.

This year’s contest is titled, “Na Kupuna” (The Grandmother).  Women ages 55 years and older are eligible to compete.  Contestants must have knowledge in the art of Hawaiian lei-making and the ability to perform the hula.

All contestants are required to attend an orientation meeting at McCoy Pavilion on Wednesday, February 20, at 6 p.m.   Interested candidates may submit their application at the time of the orientation meeting. Deadline for applications is Wednesday, February 20.
