FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 29, 2002
HOURS AT CITY’S SATELLITE CITY HALLS TO CHANGE DEC. 2
Hours at all of the City’s satellite city halls will be adjusted when they open for business this coming Monday, December 2. Satellites in Ala Moana and Pearlridge Centers, as well as Windward Mall, will open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays.
Community satellites in Kalihi, Kailua, Kapolei, Wahiawa, Waianae, Waipahu and at Fort Street Mall will be open from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays. People in line at closing times at all satellites will be served.
“The adjustments in our hours are a result of our very austere budget,” said Carol Costa, director of the City’s Department of Customer Services. “It’s the only way that we can keep our operating costs under control. We try very hard to accommodate our customers, but in serving the surge of people who arrive at closing, overtime costs have mounted.
“The new hours will allow us to serve everyone, including those who arrive as we close our doors. I hope that people understand and plan accordingly, especially when it’s time to renew their vehicle registration. The end of the month is especially hectic because many motorists wait until the last minute instead of renewing by mail or on line at www.hiplates.com.”
