International Peace Poem Award Ceremony 

          Mayor Jeremy Harris will participate in the Third Annual International Peace Poem Project Award Ceremony on Friday, April 26, 9:30 a.m., in the courtyard at Honolulu Hale.

          Students from Oahu’s elementary, middle and high schools will recite their poems and be presented with an award for placing in the school competition (the list of winners follows).

          The International Peace Poem Project has been gathering lines of poetry about peace and non-violence for several years and was a participant in the United Nations’ Millennium Peace Day in New York.  The poem can be viewed at
