ROAD WORK, PARADES AND OTHER STREET ACTIVITIES 

The departments of Facility Maintenance (^FM) and Design & Construction (^DC), and the Board of Water Supply (^WS) have scheduled the following roadwork for the week of May 19 between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Estimated completion date is in parentheses.

New Projects:

Aiea: Curb ramp construction and lane markings at Laulima Street/Moanalua Road. (Completion by 6/02) ^DC

        Construct new curb ramps, transitional sidewalks, curbs, gutters and pavement markings at Hoio Place/Hoio Street, Kaamilo Street/Ulune Street. (Completion by 11/02) ^DC 

Kahuku: PROJECT SUSPENDED while awaiting consultant plans ~ Sidewalk Improvements at Pualalea Street and localized remedial work. ^DC 

Kapahulu: Rehabilitation of Mooheau Avenue. (Completion by 8/02) ^DC

Continuing Projects:

Aiea: Rehabilitate Aiea Heights Drive. (Completion by 8/02) ^DC

      Curb ramp construction at Pono and Ponohale streets, Kaonohi Street at PearlRidge and Moanalua Loop, Moanalua Road at Ualo Street, Koauka Loop and Koauka Street, and Pali Momi Street at PearlRidge. 

Ewa Beach: Construct curb Ramps at Kilaha Street and North Road. ^DC

            Replace Laulaunui Street, West Loch Estates, sidewalks, curbs & gutters. (Completion by 8/02) ^DC 

Haleiwa: Install water lines and equipment along Haleiwa Road, Kaika Place, Nalimu Road, Naoiwi Lane, Niuula Road and Walikanahele Road. (Completion by 6/02) ^WS 

            Install new water main on Dillingham Boulevard between Waiakamilo Road and Liliha Street. (Completion by 9/02) ^WS

            Reconstruct Alewa Drive and Alencastre Street. (Completion by 9/02) ^DC

Rehabilitate Booth Road. (Completion 12/02) ^DC

            The construction of curb ramps are various locations continues. 

Kaimuki: Roadway reconstruction for the first phase of the Kaimuki Master Plan Projects starts on Waialae Avenue between Sierra Drive and Koko Head Avenue. During this period, one of the lanes on Waialae Avenue between Sierra Drive and Koko Head Avenue will be closed. Between 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., a second adjacent lane will also be closed. Coning for the construction will sometimes extend to 10th Avenue and to 13th Avenue.

During morning and afternoon peak hours, contra-flow will be provided as needed to facilitate traffic flow. However, the traffic engineers strongly recommend that motorists use alternate routes whenever possible. For more information, please call 734-8690. (Completion 6/7/02) ^DC 

Kaneohe: Construct 42-inch water mains along Kahekili Highway from Ahuimanu Road to Haiku Road and from Kulukeoe Street to Likelike Highway; Likelike Highway between Kahekili and Kamehameha highways. (Completion by 6/8/02) ^WS  

Maili: Rehabilitate Ehu and Meaulu roads and Alapaki, Kakalena and Milikami streets. (Completion by 8/02) ^DC 

Makaha: Rehabilitate Kapakai Place, Kaulawaha Road, Kaualii Road and Alawa Place. (Completion by 8/02) ^DC 

Manoa-McCully: Rebuild Manoa Road, Oahu Avenue, Dole and McCully streets. ^DC

McCully: Curb ramp construction at Date and Kamoku streets and Date and Laau streets.^DC 

Moiliili: Install eight-inch water mains on (Completion by 7/02) ^WS

      Kaaha Street from Kapiolani Boulevard to Kaaloa Street;

Salt Lake: Curb ramps at Palahinu Place/Piikea Street and Punihi Street/Piikea Street (Completion 11/02) ^DC 

Sunset Beach: Install 12-inch to 16-inch water main along Kamehameha Highway from Paumalu Place to Kahae Road. (Completion by 12/02) ^WS 

Wahiawa: Rehabilitation of Nonohe Street between California Avenue and Puninoni Street, Puninoni Street and Royal Palm Drive. (Completion by 8/02) ^DC 

Waialua:  Install water lines along Aikaula, Haona, Kanalu, Kuoha, Naluahi and Nauahi streets and Goodale Avenue. (Completion by 6/02) ^WS
