The departments of Facility Maintenance (FM) and Design & Construction (DC), and the Board of Water Supply (WS) have scheduled the following roadwork for the week of June 9 between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Estimated completion date is in parentheses.

Continuing Projects:

Aiea: Construct new curb ramps, Laulima Street, Ualo Street, Koauka Loop and Street, Pali Momi Street at Moanalua Road. (Completion by 7/02) DC

Ewa Beach: Construct curb Ramps at Kilaha Street and North Road. DC

            Replace Laulaunui Street, West Loch Estates, sidewalks, curbs & gutters. (Completion by 8/02) DC

Hawaii Kai: Construct an eight-inch main along Hawaii Kai Drive, from Pohoiki Place to Pepeekeo Street, and four-inch mains along various side streets in between. In addition, construct a 12-inch main along Kawaihae Street from Kalanianaole Highway to May Way, and eight-inch mains along May Way from Maunalua Avenue to Makaniolu Place, and along the entire length of Makaniolu Place. (Completion by 12/02) WS

Honolulu: Install new water main on Dillingham Boulevard between Waiakamilo Road and Liliha Street. (Completion by 9/02) WS

            Reconstruct Alewa Drive and Alencastre Street. (Completion by 9/02) DC

            Construct curb ramps at various locations.

Kaneohe: Construct 42-inch water mains along Kahekili Highway from Ahuimanu Road to Haiku Road and from Kulukeoe Street to Likelike Highway; Likelike Highway between Kahekili and Kamehameha highways. (Completion by 6/8/02) WS

            Rehabilitation of 22 streets has been postponed until a consultant completes plans.

Kapahulu: Rehabilitation of Mooheau Avenue. (Completion by 8/02) DC

Maili: Rehabilitate Ehu and Meaulu roads and Alapaki, Kakalena and Milikami streets. (Completion by 8/02) DC

Manoa-McCully: Rebuild Manoa Road, Oahu Avenue, Dole and McCully streets. DC

Nanakuli: Rehabilitate: Hakimo Road, Laumania Avenue, Keaulana Avenue and Pohakunui Street. (Completion by 8/02) DC

Pearl City: Reconstruct Waimano Home Road from Komo Mai Drive to end. (Completion by 8/02) DC

Salt Lake: Curb ramps at various locations. (Completion 11/02) DC

Sunset Beach: Install 12-inch to 16-inch water main along Kamehameha Highway from Paumalu Place to Kahae Road. (Completion by 12/02) WS


Waipahu: Rehabilitate Waipahu Street between Kunia Road and Mahoe Street. (Completion by 8/02) DC

King Kamehameha Day Floral Parade sponsored by the King Kamehameha Celebration Commission. The event is expected to have 3,000 Marchers, 50 Vehicles, 6 Bands, 15 floats, & 15 horse units. It will start at King St./Richards St., to King St., to Punchbowl St., to Ala Moana Blvd., to Kalakaua Ave., to Monsarrat Ave., to end at Queen Kapiolani Park.  Contact: Keahi Allen at 586-0333 Fax: 586-0335

HAWAIIAN HALF MARATHON sponsored by R.H. Productions.  The event is expected to have 1,200 runners. It will start on Ala Moana Park Dr., near Waikiki Yacht Club, go ewa to Ala Moana Blvd. ewa entrance, Kalakaua Ave., to MonsarratAve., to Paki Ave., to Diamond Hd. Rd., to 18th Ave., to Kilauea Ave., toWaialae Ave., to Kealaolu Ave., to Kahala Ave., to Diamond Hd. Rd., to KalakauaAve., to end at Honolulu Marathon Finish line. Contact: Ron Pate 808-554-6539
