SUNSET ON THE BEACH UPDATE

            Sunset on the Beach continues in Waikiki Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, before heading to the North Shore next weekend.  Enjoy our beautiful tropical sunset from Queen’s Surf Beach and delight in one of the most popular programs in Hawaii.

            Relax with a cool beverage, exotic pupus, great food and live entertainment from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m.  Radio stations KCCN FM100 on Saturday and Oldies 107.9 on Sunday will feature popular groups while Deejays will engage the audience in fun and frivolity. 

At 7 p.m., watch full-length blockbuster movies on a giant 30-foot screen.   On Saturday, it’s Tom Hanks in “Big,” a delightful comedy about a 13-year old whose wish to become big is fulfilled by an amusement park fortune teller.  Hank displays impeccable comedic timing as a not-so-lovable adolescent “trapped” in a 27-year old body.   On Sunday, the big screen comes alive with dragons and mythic battles in the action adventure fairy tale, “The Princess Bride,” directed by Rob Reiner and starring Billy Crystal and Robin Wright Penn. 

Whether you choose to picnic on the beach or dine on tables set up on the Kapahulu pier, choose from a wide menu selection – from pizzas and hot dogs to chefs’ signature plates at very special prices.   Restaurants Suekko, Ocean Seafood and Steak House, Melexi’s Café, Auntie Pasto’s, Davey Jones Ribs, Pizza Hut, Royal Hawaiian Hot Dog, Ghirardelli Ice Cream, Nutty Hawaiian, Popcorn Express and Beach House Cart will feature their finest.
