FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 27, 2002
Sunset on the Beach is the place to be again this weekend. One of the most innovative programs in Hawaii, Sunset gives local residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian sunset from Queen’s Surf Beach, at the end of world-famous Waikiki beach.
It’s a great way to relax with a cool beverage, pupus, and live entertainment from 4:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. This weekend, radio station KCCN FM100 will feature popular groups on Saturday and EXTREME radio will also engage the audience in interesting contests with great prizes on Sunday.
Films this weekend are “Ghostbusters” on Saturday, March 2 and “Hunt For Red October” on Sunday, March 3.
Whether you choose to picnic on the beach or dine on tables set up on the Kapahulu pier, choose from a wide menu selection – from pizzas and hot dogs to chefs’ signature plates at very special prices. Restaurants Davey Jones Ribs, Seafood Village, Dixie Grill, Down to Earth, Pizza Hut, Royal Hawaiian Hot Dog, Ghirardeli Ice Cream, Popcorn Express and Beach House Beverage Cart will feature their finest.
This week, Sunset on the Beach is sponsored by the City & County of Honolulu, Hawaii Restaurant Association, Waikiki Improvement Association, News 8, K5 The Home Team, and KCCN FM100.
