FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 14, 2003
CITY OFFERS TO RECOGNIZE EXISTING BUS PASS EXPIRATION DATES
At a status conference yesterday with Judge Helen Gillmor, the City offered to continue to recognize existing bus passes for senior citizens and persons with disabilities until their expiration date.
The court in turn lifted the Temporary Restraining Order that was to expire November 17 and cancelled the hearing scheduled for that day. The court has scheduled a further hearing for November 25.
In the meantime, the parties will continue meeting to determine specific steps in the process.
The City advises seniors who have passes that expire in November or December that they can go to the Blaisdell Center through Saturday, November 15 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), or after that date, they should go to TheBus Offices at 811 Middle St., Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
