HONOLULU DELEGATION TO TRAVEL TO HUE, VIETNAM THIS MONTH

           An official delegation from the City & County of Honolulu will travel to Hue, Vietnam for an assistance visit from November 14 – 23, 2003.  This will be the third such trip by City and County officials to Hue.  The visits are part of the International City/County Management Association Resource Cities Exchange Program that began in January 2002. 

           Tim Steinberger, director, Department of the City’s Department of Design and Construction, will lead the delegation.  Others will include Ken Kawahara, an engineer in the City’s Department of Environmental Services, as well as George Ikeda, Interim Outreach Coordinator at the University of Hawaii School of Travel Industry Management, and Les Steward, Assistant to the President of the Polynesian Cultural Center.

           The delegation will meet with Hue officials to implement projects in solid waste management and tourism development.
