           City government offices will be closed on Wednesday, March 26, in observance of Prince Kuhio Kalanianaole Day, a state holiday.

            Emergency services will be available.

            The Wednesday People’s Open Markets will not be held.

            Municipal golf courses, the zoo, recreation centers and botanical gardens will be open.

            Regular day refuse collections will be made and landfills/convenience centers will be open.

            TheBus will begin a new holiday schedule, increasing service on 16 routes with additional early morning trips which previously were not available on state holidays.  The revised schedule is available at satellite city halls, state libraries, TheBus headquarters (811 Middle Street), on-line at or by calling TheBus at 848-5555 any day between 5:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

            The Handi-Van service will operate as usual.

            On-street parking will be free, except for the meters on Kalakaua Avenue along Kapiolani Park.

            Parking will be permitted in towaway zones, which allow it on holidays.

            There will be no coning of traffic lanes.

            Traffic signals at Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard will be three-phase to permit mauka-bound traffic to turn left onto Kapiolani Boulevard.
