LATEST BUS PASS PROCESSING SCHEDULE FOR SENIORS AND DISABLED
Mayor Announces Deadline Extension to November 15; Bus Pass Processing Available on More Days at Blaisdell Center
Mayor Jeremy Harris announced today that senior citizen and disabled bus riders will be able to use their old bus passes until November 15, 2003, two weeks longer than the original deadline of November 1. The Special Processing Center at the Neal Blaisdell Center will operate on additional dates to accommodate the deadline extension.
The City has set up regional one-day processing centers at city parks and other convenient locations throughout the island. Free shuttle bus service will assist those going to the Kapolei Hale and Kokohead District Park service centers (See last boldfaced and underlined item below.)
More than 22,000 senior citizen/disabled bus passes have been processed over the past month. The following is an updated schedule, with latest additions in boldface and underlined:
The special processing center at the Neal Blaisdell Center will continue weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until November 15, 2003. In addition, three Saturdays have been added to the Neal Blaisdell Center schedule: November 1, 8, and 15. Saturday hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 27 - Kokohead District Park, 423 Kaumakani St., Hawaii Kai, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 29 - Waianae Neighborhood Community Center Conference Room, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 30 – Kapolei Hale, 1st Floor Conference Room, 1000 Ulu’ohi’a Street,
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Free shuttle buses will be available on Oct. 27 between the Hawaii Kai Park-and- Ride, the Hawaii Kai Library and Kokohead District Park; and also on Oct. 30 between Kapolei Transit Center and Kapolei Hale.
People are encouraged to use the special centers for faster service. Photo IDs and bus passes are also being processed at TheBus Office at 811 Middle Street. TheBus Office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
