MAYOR ISSUES STATEMENT FOLLOWING BUSH SPEECH

Statement from Mayor Jeremy Harris after hearing President Bush speak from the White House:

“When the President of the United States delivers a message like he did today, we have to take his words very seriously.  It appears the diplomatic process has failed to bring about the result we had all hoped for.

“The people of the City and County of Honolulu should know that our first responders are trained, equipped and ready to respond if necessary.

“These are serious times. We should all pull together as a community and a nation.”
