  CITY LAUNCHES NEW OPEN MARKET

The City will add another open market site in Central Oahu on June 1.  The People’s Open Market in Asing Community Park, 91-1450 Renton Road, will operate every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Royal Kunia Open Market, currently located at Royal Kunia Park and Ride Facility, will modify its hours of operation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. to facilitate the new site.   The addition of the Asing location brings the total People’s Open Market sites to 25 on the island of Oahu.

The open market concept, introduced to the city in 1973, provides for the sale of low-cost fresh produce and other local products grown by independent vendors at city-owned sites seven days a week.
