ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning October 5, 2003, for the Department of Design & Construction. Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 AIEA

Curb Ramps At Various Locations, - Pali Momi Street and Haukapila Road., Hale Momi Place and Moanalua Road, Kaimakani Street and Moanalua Road.  Construct new curb ramps.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 HONOLULU

Lunalilo Home Road Improvements from Kalanianaole Highway to Kalakua Street: Construct 10-foot wide curbed median with landscaping and irrigation.  Resurface roadway and install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2004)        

Rehabilitation of Streets, - St. Louis Drive, Dole Street, Frank Street, Eugene Place, Alphonse Place, Robert Place, Maigret Street:  Installation of watermains, hydrants & service materials.  Reconstruction and resurfacing of roadway, installation of pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2004)

Kiwila Street/10th Avenue Reconstructed Sewer: Remove old 6” line and install 8” HDPE pipe on 10th Avenue.  Work includes excavation, backfilling, repaving, road striping, concrete jacketing, & sewer lateral reinstatement.

            (Estimated completion date, October 3, 2003)

Black Point Water System Improvements, BWS Job No. 01-013:  Construct new curb ramps, cold mill and resurface asphalt pavement, install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

Bridge Replacement at La’i Road: Construct new bridge abutments, pre-stressed bridge deck, railings and guardrails.  Demolish and remove existing timber bridge.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2003) 

Rehabilitation of McCully Street: reconstruct road pavement, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and driveways.  Construct curb ramps, bus pads and drainage system.  Relocate and/or adjust existing electrical facilities for HECO, Verizon, traffic signal, street light and appurtenances.  Resurface, adjust manhole frame and cover to new grade and restripe.  Install traffic signs.

(Estimated completion date, October 2003)

Monsarrat Avenue Road Rehabilitation: Construct new curb ramp, reconstruct and resurface asphalt pavement, install traffic markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Upper Kapahulu Area in Honolulu - Hoohulu Street, Herbert Street, Castle Street, Brokaw Street, Catherine Street, Duval Street, Esther Street, Francis Street, George Street, Hayden Street, James Street, Wela Street, Edna Street, Kepuhi Street, McCorristan Street, Makini Street, Kaunaoa Street, Hinano Street, Lakimau Street, Hollinger Street, Leahi Street, Paki Avenue, Kanaina Ave., Campbell Avenue, Winam Ave., Trousseau Street, Alohea Street, and Monsarrat Avenue: Remove and reconstruct damaged concrete sidewalks, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2004)

 

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

(Estimated completion date, January 2005)

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Dune Circle: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.  During non-work hours, one lane for northbound traffic along Kalaheo Avenue will be re-opened with the other lane closed as an on-site staging are for equipment.

MAKIKI

Mott-Smith Drive, Pensacola Street and Makiki Street Sidewalk Improvements: Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, driveways, curbs, gutters, walls, pavement restoration and and install traffic signs.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

MILILANI

Curb Ramps - Hamumu Street and Hanile Street, Lanikuhana Avenue and Makaimoimo Street, Kapuahi Place and Kapuahi Street, Alapoai Street and Hokupalemo Street, Holaniku Street and Kaweo Place, Lanikuhana Avenue and Makohilani Street, Makapipipi Street and Makohilani Street, Makohilani Street and Papolohiwa Street, Kealohi Street and Makapipipi Street, Ihanu Place and Kealohi Street, Kealohi Street and Lanikuhana Avenue: Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.

(Estimated completion date, January 2004)

Rehabilitation of Streets - Kuahelani Avenue and Meheula Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install traffic signal system, streetlight system, traffic signs, striping, markings and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2003)

Kamehameha Highway Trunk Sewer Reconstruction: Work along Kamehameha Highway in Mililani from Meheula Parkway to Hokuioli Street.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2003)

 

PEARL CITY

Rehabilitation of Streets - Hoolaulea Street from Waimano Home Road to Hookahi Street: Adjust utility covers.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2003)

 

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:

Upgrade roadway to include 2 additional lanes in each direction, with designated left and right turning lanes. Provide traffic controls, mass grading, temporary security fencing and electrical overhead lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, curb ramps and property adjustments, including demolishing and reconstructing new structures and constructing new walls. Install detention basins, drainage, water, sewer, traffic signal, streetlights, underground electrical system, oil lines, gas lines, pavement striping, markings and markers, and traffic signs, irrigation and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2004)

 

WAIALUA

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase I – Remedial sidewalk and landscape work.

WAIPAHU

Curb Ramps – Moaniani Street and Pokeo Street, Hapapa Street and Mahoe Street, Paiwa Street and Kahuamoku Street and Kahuanui Street, Waipahu Depot road and Waipahu Street: construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers
