ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning March 30, 2003, for the Department of Design & Construction. Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

AIEA

Curb ramps —Ulune Street and Wiliko Street:  installing, striping, markings and markers.

 (Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

EWA

Old Fort Weaver Road, Mokuola Street & North Road Sidewalk Improvements - Old Fort Weaver Road from Farrington Highway to Fort Weaver Road: Construct new asphalt concrete sidewalk, curb, CRM wall, and driveway aprons.

(Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

HONOLULU

 

Reconstruction of Sidewalks, Ala Moana Area – Alohi Way, Elm Street, Pensacola Street, Piikoi Street, Hoolai Street, Kamaile Street, Alder Street, Birch Street, Cedar Street, Liona Street, Sheridan Street, Keeaumoku Street, Rycroft Street, Lauula Way, Makaloa Street: Demolish and reconstruct existing concrete sidewalks.

            (Estimated completion date, August 2003)

 

Curb ramps – Pensacola Street/Wilder Avenue: construct new curb ramps, transitional sidewalks, curbs and gutters and pavement transitions.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

Rehabilitation of streets - Nuuanu Avenue, Dole Street and McCully Street: reconstruct road pavement, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and driveways.  Construct curb ramps, bus pads and drainage system.  Relocate and/or adjust existing electrical facilities for HECO, Verizon, traffic signal, street light and appurtenances.  Resurface, adjust manhole frame and cover to new grade and restripe.  Install traffic signs.

(Estimated completion date, April 2003)

 

Curb Ramps - Dole Street/East-West Road:  Construct new curb ramps, transitional sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and pavement transitions.

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

(Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

KAIMUKI

Curb ramps – 13th Avenue and Mahina Avenue, 21st Avenue and Pahoa Avenue, Olokele Avenue and Winam Avenue:  install striping, markings and markers.

(Estimated completion date, April 2003)

 

KALIHI

Emergency Sewer Repair: Amelia Street/Kalihi Stream

(March 17, 2003 to April 17, 2003)

 

Curb ramps –Houghtailing Street/North School Street/Waiakamilo Road, Bernice Street/Houghtailing Street: Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways.  Replace traffic signal and streetlight system, traffic signs, striping, markings and markers.

(Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

MAKIKI

Curb Ramps at Various Locations - Piikoi Street and Wilder Avenue, Liholiho Street and Wilder Avenue: Construct new curb ramps and sidewalks.  Replace traffic signal system, traffic signs, striping, marking and markers.

MANOA

Curb Ramps – East Manoa Road and Koaniani Way: Install striping, markings, and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

MILILANI

Rehabilitation of Streets- Kuahelani Avenue and Meheula Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install traffic signal system, streetlight system, traffic signs, striping, markings and markers.

             (Estimated completion date, April 2003)

 

MOANALUA

Curb ramps – Mahiole Street (mid-block) between Onipa’a Street and Pineapple Place, Maalahi Street and Mahiole Street: installing striping, markings and markers.

SALT LAKE

Rehabilitation of Streets - Hoolaulea Street from Waimano Home Road to Hookahi Street:

Asphalt pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, March 31, 2003)

 

Curb ramps- Ala Akulikuli Street and Ala Laulani Street, Ala Lilikoi Street and Ala Loke Street, Ala Ilima Street and Ala Nioi Place, Ala Makahala Place and Ala Napunani Street, Ala Napunani Street and Ala Poha Place, Ala Napunani Street and Likini Street: install striping, markings and markers.

(Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:

Upgrade roadway to include 2 additional lanes in each direction, with designated left and right turning lanes. Provide traffic controls, mass grading, temporary security fencing and electrical overhead lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, curb ramps and property adjustments, including demolishing and reconstructing new structures and constructing new walls. Install detention basins, drainage, water, sewer, traffic signal, streetlights, underground electrical system, oil lines, gas lines, pavement striping, markings and markers, and traffic signs, irrigation and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2004)

 

WAHIAWA

Curb Ramps at Various Locations, FY 2001(6) – California Avenue/Rose Street:

Construct new curb ramps, transitional sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and pavement transitions.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2003)

 

WAIANAE

Mailiilii Stream Slope Lining Repairs: Construct new channel lining.  Install new metal guardrail.

(Estimated completion date, March 2003)

 

WAIPAHU

Curb Ramps at - Puamano Place and Waipahu Street: Installing striping, markings and markers.

PARADES, WALKS, RACES & OTHER STREET CLOSURES

NORMAN TAMANAHA MEMORIAL 15K RUN sponsored by Midpacific Roadrunners. The event is expected to have 500 runners.  The event will start at Kalakaua Ave., to Monsarrat Ave., to Paki Ave., to Diamond Head Rd., to Kahala Ave., to Kealaolu St., turn around at end of Kealaolu St (at the service station) to Kealaolu St., to Kahala Ave., to Diamond Head Rd., to Kalakaua Ave., to end at Honolulu Marathon Finish Line.  Contact John Simonds 373-3609

SPAM JAM STREET FESTIVAL sponsored by the Waikiki Improvement Assn.  The event is expected to have 8,000+ participants.  Traffic will be diverted starting 2 pm for setup.
