ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning November 16, 2003, for the Department of Design & Construction. Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

AIEA

Curb Ramps at - Pali Momi Street and Haukapila Road., Hale Momi Place and Moanalua Road, Kaimakani Street and Moanalua Road.  Construct new curb ramps.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

HONOLULU

Black Point Water System Improvements, BWS Job No. 01-013:  Construct new curb ramps, cold mill and resurface asphalt pavement, install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

Bridge Replacement at La’i Road: Construct new bridge abutments, pre-stressed bridge deck, railings and guardrails.  Demolish and remove existing timber bridge.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2003)

 

Lunalilo Home Road Improvements from Kalanianaole Highway to Kalakua Street: Construct 10-foot wide curbed median with landscaping and irrigation.  Resurface roadway and install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

Monsarrat Avenue Road Rehabilitation: Construct new curb ramp, reconstruct and resurface asphalt pavement, install traffic markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets, - St. Louis Drive, Dole Street, Frank Street, Eugene Place, Alphonse Place, Robert Place, Maigret Street:  Installation of watermains, hydrants & service materials.  Reconstruction and resurfacing of roadway, installation of pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2004)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Upper Kapahulu Area in Honolulu - Hoohulu Street, Herbert Street, Castle Street, Brokaw Street, Catherine Street, Duval Street, Esther Street, Francis Street, George Street, Hayden Street, James Street, Wela Street, Edna Street, Kepuhi Street, McCorristan Street, Makini Street, Kaunaoa Street, Hinano Street, Lakimau Street, Hollinger Street, Leahi Street, Paki Avenue, Kanaina Ave., Campbell Avenue, Winam Ave., Trousseau Street, Alohea Street, and Monsarrat Avenue: Remove and reconstruct damaged concrete sidewalks, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2004)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Lower University Avenue and Kapahulu Areas – Hihiwai Street, Kamoku Street, Lauiki Street, University Avenue, Date Street, Kaimuki Avenue, Leialoha Avenue, Okokele Avenue, Lukepane Street, Ekela Avenue, Makaleka Avenue, Palani Avenue, Kamuela Avenue, Winam Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue: Demolish and reconstruct damaged concrete sidewalks, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

(Estimate completion date, May 2004)

 

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

(Estimated completion date, January 2005)

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Dune Circle: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.  During non-work hours, one lane for northbound traffic along Kalaheo Avenue will be re-opened with the other lane closed as an on-site staging are for equipment.

KANEOHE

Rehabilitation of Mapumapu Road: Reconstruct and resurface roadway including utility manhole adjustment and pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

MAKIKI

Mott-Smith Drive, Pensacola Street and Makiki Street Sidewalk Improvements: Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, driveways, curbs, gutters, walls, pavement restoration and and install traffic signs.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

MCCULLY

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks - University Avenue, Algaroba Street, Wiliwili Street, Makahiki Way, Waiola Street, Waiola Way, Paani Street, Citron Street, Fern Street, Hoawa Street, Lime Street, Coolidge Street, and Date Street: Remove and reconstruct concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2004)

 

MILILANI

Rehabilitation of Streets - Kuahelani Avenue and Meheula Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install traffic signal system, streetlight system, traffic signs, striping, markings and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2003)

 

Kamehameha Highway Trunk Sewer Reconstruction: Work along Kamehameha Highway in Mililani from Meheula Parkway to Hokuioli Street.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2003)

 

MOANALUA

Curb Ramps at - Halupa Street and Olino Street, Halupa Street and Puanakau Street, Molehu Drive and Puanakau Street, Molehu Drive and Olino Street, Haloa Drive and Olino Street, and Ala Ilima Street and Ala Lilikoi Street: Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

PEARL CITY

Rehabilitation of Streets – Hoolaulea Street from Waimano Home Road to Hookahi Street: Adjust utility covers.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2003)

 

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:

Upgrade roadway to include 2 additional lanes in each direction, with designated left and right turning lanes. Provide traffic controls, mass grading, temporary security fencing and electrical overhead lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, curb ramps and property adjustments, including demolishing and reconstructing new structures and constructing new walls. Install detention basins, drainage, water, sewer, traffic signal, streetlights, underground electrical system, oil lines, gas lines, pavement striping, markings and markers, and traffic signs, irrigation and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2004)

 

WAIALUA

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase I – Remedial sidewalk and landscape work.
