ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning November 30, 2003, for the Department of Design & Construction. Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

AIEA

Curb Ramps at - Pali Momi Street and Haukapila Road., Hale Momi Place and Moanalua Road, Kaimakani Street and Moanalua Road.  Construct new curb ramps.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

HONOLULU

Ala Moana Boulevard Bedautification, Kalia Road to Kalakaua Avenue:  Install landscape planting and irrigation system in the median.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

Black Point Water System Improvements, BWS Job No. 01-013:  Construct new curb ramps, cold mill and resurface asphalt pavement, install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

Bridge Replacement at La’i Road: Construct new bridge abutments, pre-stressed bridge deck, railings and guardrails.  Demolish and remove existing timber bridge.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2003)

 

Kiwila Street/10th Avenue Reconstructed Sewer: Remove old 6-inch line and install 8-inch line on 10th Avenue.  Excavation, backfilling, repaving, road striping, concrete jacketing and sewer lateral reinstatement.

            (Estimated completion date, October 3, 2003)

 

Lunalilo Home Road Improvements from Kalanianaole Highway to Kalakua Street: Construct 10-foot wide curbed median with landscaping and irrigation.  Resurface roadway and install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

Monsarrat Avenue Road Rehabilitation: Construct new curb ramp, reconstruct and resurface asphalt pavement, install traffic markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

Palolo Avenue Water System Improvements, Part I:  Ahinahina Place, Hoanoho Place, Kanekopa Place, Kehau Place, Kekona Place, Kilihune Place, Paliahina Place, Palolo Terrace Place, Uilani Place, Wiliana Place and Palolo Avenue from Waialae Avenue to Kilihune Place.  Cold mill and resurface roadway, adjust utility manholes to grade and install pavement markings.

 

Rehabilitation of Streets – Mooheau Avenue, Monsarrat Avenue, Booth Road, Nuuanu Avenue, Dole Street and McCully Street:  Reconstruct road pavement, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and driveways.  Construct curb ramps, bus pads and drainage system.  Relocate/adjust existing electrical facilities, traffic signal, street light and appurenances.  Resurface, adjust manhole frame and cover to new grade and restripe.  Install traffic signs.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets - St. Louis Drive, Dole Street, Frank Street, Eugene Place, Alphonse Place, Robert Place, Maigret Street:  Installation of water mains, hydrants & service materials.  Reconstruction and resurfacing of roadway, installation of pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2004)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Upper Kapahulu Area in Honolulu - Hoohulu Street, Herbert Street, Castle Street, Brokaw Street, Catherine Street, Duval Street, Esther Street, Francis Street, George Street, Hayden Street, James Street, Wela Street, Edna Street, Kepuhi Street, McCorristan Street, Makini Street, Kaunaoa Street, Hinano Street, Lakimau Street, Hollinger Street, Leahi Street, Paki Avenue, Kanaina Ave., Campbell Avenue, Winam Ave., Trousseau Street, Alohea Street, and Monsarrat Avenue: Remove and reconstruct damaged concrete sidewalks, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2004)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Lower University Avenue and Kapahulu Areas – Hihiwai Street, Kamoku Street, Lauiki Street, University Avenue, Date Street, Kaimuki Avenue, Leialoha Avenue, Okokele Avenue, Lukepane Street, Ekela Avenue, Makaleka Avenue, Palani Avenue, Kamuela Avenue, Winam Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue: Demolish and reconstruct damaged concrete sidewalks, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

(Estimate completion date, May 2004)

 

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

(Estimated completion date, January 2005)

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Dune Circle: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.  During non-work hours, one lane for northbound traffic along Kalaheo Avenue will be re-opened with the other lane closed as an on-site staging are for equipment.

KANEOHE

Rehabilitation of Mapumapu Road: Reconstruct and resurface roadway including utility manhole adjustment and pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

MAKIKI

Mott-Smith Drive, Pensacola Street and Makiki Street Sidewalk Improvements: Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, driveways, curbs, gutters, walls, pavement restoration and and install traffic signs.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2003)

 

MCCULLY

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks - University Avenue, Algaroba Street, Wiliwili Street, Makahiki Way, Waiola Street, Waiola Way, Paani Street, Citron Street, Fern Street, Hoawa Street, Lime Street, Coolidge Street, and Date Street: Remove and reconstruct concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, trim street trees and cut and remove tree roots, install root barriers, and adjust utility boxes to new grade.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2004)

 

MILILANI

Curb Ramps At Various Locations:  Hamumu Street and Hanile Street, Lanikuhana Avenue and Makaimoimo Street, Kapuahi Place and Kapuahi Street, Alapoai Street and Hokupalemo Street, Holaniku Street and Kaweo Place, Lanikuhana Avenue and Makohilani Street, Makapipipi Street and Makohilani Street, Makohilani Street and Papolohiwa Street, Kealohi Street and Makapipipi Street, Ihanu Place and Kealohi Street, Kealohi Street and Lanikuhana Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets - Kuahelani Avenue and Meheula Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install traffic signal system, streetlight system, traffic signs, striping, markings and markers.

Kamehameha Highway Trunk Sewer Reconstruction: Work along Kamehameha Highway in Mililani from Meheula Parkway to Hokuioli Street.

MOANALUA

Curb Ramps at - Halupa Street and Olino Street, Halupa Street and Puanakau Street, Molehu Drive and Puanakau Street, Molehu Drive and Olino Street, Haloa Drive and Olino Street, and Ala Ilima Street and Ala Lilikoi Street, Ala Lilikoi Street and Likini Street,  Bougainville Drive between Lawhana Street and Salt Lake Boulevard, Malaai Street and Lawehana Street, Ala Lilikoi Place and Salt Lake District Park, Ala Ilima Place and Ala Ilima Street, Ala Napunani Street and Ala Puaala Place, Ala Leie Street and Ala Napunani Street, Ala Napunani Street and Ala Puumalu Street, Ala Puumalu Street and Ala Ulike Place,  Ala Hahanui Street and Ala Puumalu street, Ala Puumalu Street and the Honolulu Country Club driveway: Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.

PEARL CITY

Curb Ramps At Various Locations – Waihona Place and Waihona Street, Waimano Home Road and Nanakai Street, Wahinani Street and Waimano Home Road, Hoomalu Street and Waimano Home Road, Hoohiki Place and Hoohiki Street and Noelani Street, Kamahao Street and Koaheahe Street, Hookanike Street and Kaahumanu Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, driveways.  Install pedestrian pubsh buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2004)

 

Newton Water System Improvements – Apelekoka Street, Hapaki Street, Kilika Place, Kupukupu Street, Mikinolia Place and Piki Street:  Cold mill and resurface roadway, adjust utility manholes to grade and install pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2003)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets – Hoolaulea Street from Waimano Home Road to Hookahi Street: Adjust utility covers.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2003)

 

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:

Upgrade roadway to include 2 additional lanes in each direction, with designated left and right turning lanes. Provide traffic controls, mass grading, temporary security fencing and electrical overhead lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, curb ramps and property adjustments, including demolishing and reconstructing new structures and constructing new walls. Install detention basins, drainage, water, sewer, traffic signal, streetlights, underground electrical system, oil lines, gas lines, pavement striping, markings and markers, and traffic signs, irrigation and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2004)

 

WAIPAHU

Curb Ramps At Various Locations – Moaniani Street and Ukee Street, Moaniani Street and Pokeo Street, Moaniani Street and Okupu Street, Mele Street and Waipio Uka Street, Ka Uka Boulevard and Ukee Street, Puahi Street and Ukee Street, Oli Loop Ukee Street, Kahimoe Street and Oil Loop, Hapa Street and Mahoe Street, Paiwa Street and Kahuamoku Street and Kahuanui street, Waipahu Depot Road and Waipahu Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and driveways.  Instlal pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.
