 SATURDAY BUS SHUTTLE SERVICE RENEWED

Saturday’s Parade Alters Ala Moana-Waikiki Route; Barricade Signs Will Direct Riders to In-Service Stops on that Route.

Mayor Jeremy Harris announced today that the City will continue its popular Saturday bus shuttle service to assist people who need to get into town for work or shopping or to get around within their community.

Chinatown Gateway Plaza, at the intersection of Hotel and Bethel streets, will continue as “grand central” for most of the 16 school buses that will be providing service.

The free shuttles will begin at 7 a.m. Riders are asked to be flexible as the school buses will not run on an exact schedule. Signs will be posted at the shuttle stops to aid riders.

All routes will run on a circular route. Six of the routes will circle through Chinatown Gateway Plaza while the North Shore-Sunset-Kaaawa-Windward route will circle within that community.

The Saturday schedule includes the following routes:

ALA MOANA-WAIKIKI-UH SHUTTLE:  Four buses running to five stops. There will be about a 10-minute interval between stops. The last bus of the day from Chinatown Gateway Plaza will leave at 5 p.m. Please note that because of Saturday’s parade, several stops have been moved. There will be directions on the barricade of stops not in use indicating where the nearest in-service stop is located.
