ZOO RECEIVES TWO DEFIBRILLATORS
The Honolulu Zoo will receive two defibrillators from the American Heart Association thanks to a grant from the Weinberg Foundation.
Defibrillators are emergency response devices used to restore the heart rhythm for victims of heart attacks. The City Councilís Parks and Recreation Committee formally accepted the donations last week.
The two defibrillators will be on site at the Zoo, which has trained 10 employees in the use of the device. Defibrillators have also been donated to other City departments for use in emergencies.
