FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ANTI-CRIME LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS TO BE UNVEILED The public is invited to the unveiling of street lighting improvements on Arizona Road in Salt Lake, a project that was initiated by the Vision Group for the area. The short dedication ceremony will be held 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, March 10) at the First Southern Baptist Church, 3121 Arizona Road. Navy Region Hawaii Chaplain LT Eric Battle will officiate the blessing. The project provides 13 100-watt high-pressure sodium lights on new and existing wooden utility poles along Arizona Road, between Salt Lake Boulevard and Catlin Road. Except for a single light at the intersection of Salt Lake Boulevard and Arizona Road, there had been no other streetlight along this stretch of roadway. Total cost of the improvement was $36,724. Strongly supporting the project efforts was the Salt Lake/Moanalua Vision Project and State Sen. Norman Sakamoto, who hailed the lighting as an anti-crime improvement. -30- |
