BAD WEATHER CAUSES SEWER PROBLEMS- ADDENDUM Please add the following to the previous news release issued tonight (Friday, Another continuing sewage spill involves a manhole at the Kaneohe Preliminary Treatment Facility, which began backing up at 5:12 p.m. today (Friday, February 27) with raw sewage which is believed to reached Kawa Stream, which feeds into Kaneohe Bay. Warning signs have been posted at affected areas. Heavy rains also continue to overload injection wells at the Waimanalo Wastewater Treatment Plant, where fully treated wastewater began again today to overflow on plant grounds into an adjacent ravine. The spill has not entered public waters at last report. -30- |
