The City’s Christmas tree will be harvested tomorrow (November 16) at 9:00 a.m. from the Keolu Hills property of Robert and Marie Weller, 1425 Kina Street. The Wellers purchased the 65-foot Norfolk Pine from Koolau Farms in 1977, when it was a pint-sized five-foot Christmas tree, and replanted it in their backyard after the holidays. The work should be completed by 9:30 a.m., according to the Urban Forestry Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation. The tree will be installed on front lawn of Honolulu Hale Thursday (November 18) at 10 a.m. For more information, contact Patti Kimoto, 527-6060. -30- |
