FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY TO BEGIN ROAD RESURFACING ON KUAKINI STREET Motorists are advised that the City will begin resurfacing Kuakini Street, between Lanikila Avenue and Pali Highway, between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 12 through Thursday, March 25, weather permitting. The project is a continuation of the City’s emergency road work effort that has already resurfaced major portions of Beretania Street , Kapiolani Boulevard, Young Street, Piikoi Street and Kalakaua Avenue, and which will target other heavily traveled roadways in Honolulu’s urban core. The work on Kuakini Street will require closure of one lane of traffic in the construction area. Off-duty police officers will assist motorists around the construction zones. Permanent pavement striping, manhole adjustments and loop detector work will follow.
