December 18, 2004

Mayor Jeremy Harris will be at several bookstores next week signing his new book, “The Renaissance of Honolulu.”

The 224-page soft-cover book chronicles the Mayor’s 10-year quest to revitalize Oahu and make Honolulu a model sustainable city. It’s filled with colored photos, many documenting before and after scenes.

As part of the 100-year anniversary of the creation of the City and County of Honolulu, Mayor Harris’ book highlights the mistakes made over the years and efforts to restore Honolulu as a great place in which to live.

Honolulu was recently named the most livable, sustainable major city in the world (population 750,000+) by the International Awards for Livable Communities.

All proceeds from the sale of Mayor Harris’ book, which is being sold for $19.95, will be returned to the City’s General Fund.

The Mayor’s book signing schedule includes appearances on the following dates and bookstores:

Tues., Dec 21: 6:00 p.m., Barnes & Noble, Kahala Mall

Wed., Dec. 22: Noon, Borders Books Music & Café, Ward Centre.
