NEW CITY WEBSITE SHOWS TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

People interested in checking the traffic situation in various parts of Honolulu can now log on to the City website at http://www4.co.honolulu.hi.us/hpdtraffic/ to get an updated report.

The website data comes directly from the Computer Aided Dispatch system at the Honolulu Police Department (HPD).  Information on motor vehicle collisions, hazardous conditions or stalls is provided.

The City Department of Information Technology (DIT) conceived the traffic page concept and worked with HPD to implement it.

The web page has been available now for several weeks and ranks number one in daily viewership on the City’s website, according to the DIT.
