September 8, 2004

The public is welcome to attend a talk by New Generation Consulting's Rebecca Ryan on "Hot Jobs--Cool Communities" scheduled for Monday, Sept. 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the Mission Memorial Auditorium, located Diamond Head of Honolulu Hale. Parking is available in the Civic Center Parking Structure.

Ryan has come to Honolulu to discuss a shortage of 10 million workers that will occur by 2008 due to the retirement of Baby Boomers and lack of GenX'ers ready to take their place in the workforce.

She will explain that GenX'ers are looking at the community first, then job opportunities.

Ryan's appearance in Honolulu is sponsored by the Urban Land Institute, the Chamber of Commerce, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts, the City and County of Honolulu and the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

Seating is limited to the first 350 people. Call Jeannie Fujikawa at 526-5767 or e-mail for seating information.
