 SEWAGE SPILL IN KALIHI

            A manhole clogged with roots overflowed this morning (Monday, March 1), spilling 1,500 gallons of raw sewage into Kalihi Stream.

            The spill was reported at 1809 Alu Place at 7:55 a.m and was stopped at 3:00 p.m.   Warning signs were posted along areas of Kalihi Stream and Keehi Lagoon.  Affected waters have also been tested, or will undergo testing, for contamination.

            The State Department of Health has been notified of the incident.
