CITY NOW HIRING SUMMER STUDENT AIDES
If you’re looking for a full-time summer job and enjoy working with children, you may be a candidate for the City’s Department of Parks and Recreation’s Summer Fun Program. Positions are available for immediate hiring.
The program begins June 14 and runs for seven weeks through July 30. Summer Fun is operated at more than sixty sites island-wide, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children range from five years through grade six.
Summer Aides must be in college and have completed at least one year of college (24 credit hours), have a valid first aid certificate or must have obtained one by June 1, 2004. They must also be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or non-citizen authorized under federal law to work in the United States.
Candidates should also enjoy leading recreational activities such as sports and games, music and dance and arts and crafts. Wages range from $7.50 to $8.50 per hour, depending upon experience.
