NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE PRESENTS SUNSET ON THE BEACH
Sunset on the Beach continues in Waikiki this weekend, Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25, through the support of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). “We are delighted to sponsor Sunset on the Beach,” said Robert Kritzman, NCL Senior Vice President overseeing operations in Hawaii.
“Both Sunset on the Beach and Norwegian Cruise Line strive to provide the same quality of superior service, warm hospitality and spirit of Aloha. We’d like to take this opportunity to attract more applicants from Hawaii to work on our ships and to invite residents to experience the luxury and benefits of cruise travel at an affordable price,” he said.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s U. S. flagged ships, Pride of Aloha and Pride of America, are to be based in Honolulu year round. NCL generates more than $800 million in economic benefits for Hawaii and the U. S., providing more than 10,000 jobs in Hawaii alone.
Sunset on the Beach begins at 4 p.m. with radio station deejays emceeing the entertainment stage. On Saturday, 1043 XME presents the sounds of “Tiki Taboo” and “ONE.” On Sunday, Hawaiian 105 KINE brings back the melodious music of “Nightlife.”
Movies on the 30-foot screen begin after sunset at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, it’s the dashing Johnny Depp in “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Sunday, Angelina Jolie lights up the big screen in “Lara Croft, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.” All movies are edited for family viewing.
Whether you choose to picnic on the beach or dine on tables set up on the Kapahulu Pier, choose from a wide menu selection – from pizzas and hot dogs to chefs’ signature plates at very special prices. Restaurants participating this weekend include Royal Hawaiian Hot Dog & Shaved Ice, Paradise Water Ice, Leo’s Traverna, Imari Bento & Okazu, K Restaurant, Time 2 Grind, Bale French Sandwich & Restaurant, Sweet Street Deserts, Popcorn Express and Pizza Hut
The Waikiki Improvement Association, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Hawaii Restaurant Association News 8, K5 The Home Team, and radio stations, 1043 XME and Hawaiian 105 KINE, sponsor Sunset on the Beach.
