CITY BEGINS 2005-2006 NATIONAL

HOOP SHOOT COMPETITION

            The City and County of Honolulu announces the 2005-2006 National Elks Hoop Shoot Competition will begin at various parks on Oahu during the Fall 2005 program. 

            The contest involves 25 free-throw for boys and girls in age groups 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 years of age.  The winners in each category will advance to the city-wide competition on December 3.  Winners from this level continue to advance to the state, regional and national competitions.   

            The annual Hoop Shoot Competition is sponsored by the Department of Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks (Honolulu, Kailua and Pearl City Lodges).
