FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 13, 2005
Bellows Field Beach Park, which is normally open to the public on weekends, will be closed to the public the next two weekends, October 14-16 and October 21-23, 2005, to allow contractors to work on upgrades to the wastewater systems for the two public comfort stations there. The contractor on the $163,342 job, Walker Moody Cosntruction Co., Ltd., is working on the project on weekdays, but the weekend closures are necessary to complete the job. The campground and comfort stations are closed for the duration of the project, which involves installation of septic tanks and leach fields for the comfort stations. The beach park, located within Bellows Air Force Station, is normally open to the public from noon Fridays until 8 a.m. Mondays. “We regret the inconvenience these closures will might cause, but they are necessary to complete the much-needed sewer work,” said City Parks Director Lester Chang. -30- Contact: Mark Matsunaga, 527-5767
